How to Install Java on Ubuntu

After spending many hours searching the Internet and following many different instructions and typing thousands of commands into the terminal with the process always failing (usually at the last input), I've finally found a simple way of installing Java on Ubuntu. In fact, it's unbelievably simple. To run Java programs you need to have the Java Runtime Environment (JRE) installed. Just open the Ubuntu Software Center and search for 'OpenJDK Java 7 Runtime', click 'Install' and you're done! If you want to develop programs you will, of course, also need the Java Development Kit installed, so just search for 'OpenJDK Development Kit (JDK)' and click 'Install' again.
